Mary Elizabeth Mulvihill

Art Classes in Temecula and Fallbrook

Class Philosophy

The philosophy of my classes is to build a sound foundation for students. Classes are lesson oriented with the goal of building skills. The curriculum is designed to advance students through beginning drawing, to beginning study of the medium of their choice, to intermediate study and, finally, to the development of a professional portfolio.  Taking the time to build a core set of skills, particularly drawing, leads to faster progress in the intermediate and advanced levels.  The environment is supportive and friendly.

Biography

Mary Mulvihill is a graduate of UCLA in Art History.  Her first teacher was the Russian impressionist, Sergei Bongart.  He was a master of color and composition and the teacher who influenced Mary’s painting the most.  She has also studied with David Leffel, Harley Brown, Ovanes Berberian, Ted Goerschner, Hal Reed, Laura Robb, Ramon Kelley, Carolyn Anderson, Jeff Watts, John Salminen and Joseph Zbukvic.

Mary has eight years of experience teaching fine art classes in drawing, oil, pastel, acrylic and watercolor.   While she paints landscape, still life and the figure, her subject is always color and light.
